MINISTRIES OF MESSIAH

Adult Usher Ministry

The Senior Usher ministry provides the preliminary introduction to the Messiah worship experience by welcoming and greeting our members, visitors and friends.

This group displays both dedication and knowledge as it assists with orderly conduct of our services and all events held at the church.

Funerary Ministry

The Funerary Ministry at Messiah Baptist Church officially began in October 2014 to address the pre-death and funeral arrangement needs within our community and church.  

Grief Share Ministry 

 The GriefShare Ministry is a grief support statewide network developed by Church Initiative and is an appendage to the  

reproduction of the program booklet, eulogy writing assistance, 

Parent Advocacy Ministry 

We are a village of parents and friends of Messiah Baptist Church who lovingly advocate for families who need support and are looking for resources and information. We are a faithful voice and a liaison that reaches out to, up to, and into the Church as well as Community agencies as needed. 

Deacons Ministry

Deacons are ordained members of the Body of Christ who assist the Pastor, conduct bible study, visit the sick and they serve all of God’s children. Deacons are servants of Christ ministering both within and beyond the church walls. Their charge, in ministry is to lead in equipping others with God’s word and ministering to them in various ways, so that the church body may respond to the needs of the people in love, faith and truth. Our Diaconate ministry is a distinct community of servant leadership. With that in mind, the Deacons goal is to welcome you with open arms and make your visit a pleasant one. 

Missionary Society Ministry 

The Missionary Society Ministry actively participates in the American Baptist Women of Massachusetts, serving as disciples for Christ. They follow God’s teachings by spreading the gospel and serving all of God’s people and community in a variety of ways.

Local Organizing Ministry (LOM)

Collaboratively with the Brockton Interfaith Community (BIC), this ministry is very active in addressing social justice issues in Brockton, and the surrounding communities which creates an effect on the entire state of Massachusetts. 

Messiah Baptist Arts and Crafts Ministry (MBACM) 

MBACM is a diverse group of crafters dedicated to promoting the art of quilt making, knitting, crocheting, as well as other crafts and furthering professionalism in the field of quilt making. MBACM members meet twice a month to provide mutual sharing of skills, techniques, encouragement, and support each other’s efforts to express themselves in fiber socially and spiritually. The group fosters self-esteem through the creativity of individuals’ crafts. Ages 10 and older are welcome to join us on the 1st and 4th Saturday from 12:00 – 3:00 p.m. 

Financial Stewardship Ministry

The Financial Stewardship Ministry inspires the congregation to willingly give their time, talent, and financial treasures in the capacity that God has gifted them. We are dedicated to making a difference in people’s lives and creating disciples based on the word of God. The ministry values relationships and biblical fellowship under the divine direction of the word of God. (Acts 2:42). 

Men’s Fellowship Ministry 

The Men’s Ministry seeks to meet the spiritual needs of men in the church, community, place of work and home, through prayer and fellowship. Our goal is to help all men recognize their spiritual gifts through consistent prayer and support for equipping and encouraging men to participate in various ministries at Messiah.

Women’s Fellowship (Molding Beautiful and Caring Women) 

 The purpose of the Women’s Fellowship is to be a church organization that reaches out to women with the hope of understanding their needs. This ministry also supports women in need; be it spiritually or physically. As an organization, this ministry assists other groups within the church whenever possible. 

Trustees Ministry 

The Trustee Ministry, accordance with the purpose of the Holy Spirit through prayer, and in council with the Pastor, help members of the church fulfill Christ's mission for God’s church in all the ministries God calls them to serve.

The Trustee Ministry manages the church’ physical property, make purchases and oversees the financial matters of the church and establish long-range financial decisions that promote the mission of Messiah Baptist Church with spiritual sensitivity. Trustees enable the execution of God’s mission through stewardship and individual spiritual gifts. Acting as one body, the Trustees provide guidance, leadership, and capacity to help further God’s word.

Multi-Media Ministry

The Messiah Baptist Church multi-media ministry seeks to spread the good news of Jesus Christ by providing alternate media for worship services and events at the church.
